The Bavarian Queen Mother and her sons Otto and the future King Ludwig were frequent summer visitors in the past, when Lermoos was already renowned for its beauty. Nature lovers will feel at home here. Not only do the surrounding mountains invite you to go walking, there are also opportunities for mountain biking, tennis, golf and swimming either in the mountain lakes of the area or the open pool in the village.

Foodlovers can sample the delicious Tyrol cuisine or relax on a terrace with view of the majestic Zugspitze.

The Zugspitze cable railway takes you to a height of nearly 3,000 metres in a matter of minutes. If you do not want to climb so high, you can take advantage of the cable railways in Lermoos itself to visit the mountains around the village.

Those interested in culture will find places of interest in abundance. The royal castles at Neuschwanstein and Linderhof are within easy reach, as are Ettal monastery, the seminary at Stams, the saltmines in Schwaz, the Swarowsky Chrystal World, and open air museums. The provincial capital, Innsbruck, is only an hour`s drive away, and Munich is not much further. Lermoos itself offers concerts, Tyrolean evenings, theatre performances, exhibitions, village festivals...
